Thanks to the Illinois Secretary of State (SOS) you can now skip the long lines at the Illinois DMV. Motor vehicle registration renewal is available at your participating local bank.
It’s easier than you may think.

Here’s how to do it.

1. Find a Bank Offering Illinois Motor Vehicle Registration Renewal Services - Since you don’t have to be a bank customer to use their registration renewal service, it easy to find a bank near you. 2. Bring the Right Information

As long as you are prepared, the entire registration renewal process should only take a minute or two.
You will need:

1. Your driver’s license
2. The motor vehicle renewal information sent to you from the Illinois Secretary of State (to be sure you have the right document, check for a barcode on the paperwork)
3. Any form of payment: cash, check, credit or debit card are all accepted
4. Process your Registration

Once you are at the bank, your motor vehicle registration is processed quickly by a banker.

1. You give the banker your ID and motor vehicle registration renewal letter with the barcode
2. The banker verifies your ID, scans the barcode on the letter, prints your vehicle sticker and processes your payment
3. In less than 30 seconds, your vehicle sticker is  renewed.
